The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, NJ was called to order by Mayor Oldham at 4:32pm who stated to the best of his knowledge all requirements of the State Sunshine Law had been met.  Commissioners Gerkens and Board Attorney John Cerefice were present.  Commissioner Garofalo was absent.

 

Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, March 15, 2005, was made by

Commissioner Gerkens.

 

ORDINANCE #2005-07 SECOND READING

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS, 1975, ENTITLED “ADMINISTRATION”

(repeal police copy fees, holidays, personnel policies)

(Increase fees 20%)

(Increase water/sewer rates)

Commissioner Gerkens stated that this is the first raise in water/sewer rates since 1996.

ORDINANCE #2005-11 SECOND READING

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS, 1975, ENTITLED “POLICE REGULATIONS”

($100 fine established for not covering dumpsters)

Proof of publication is on hand and the ordinance has been posted.

 

Board Attorney John Cerefice advised the Board not to adopt this ordinance. He stated that this fine should be placed on the violation schedule via the Court Administrator and Judge.  Commissioner Gerkens made a motion not to adopt this ordinance, seconded by Mayor Oldham.

 

ORDINANCE #2005-12 SECOND READING

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS, 1975, ENTITLED “GENERAL LICENSING”

(Establish Lifeguard In Training fee of $50.00)
