REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONERS:

Commissioner Garofalo –

·        Beach badges sales equal last year’s sales; the remainder of the season will be excess income.

Commissioner Gerkens –

·        We had a successful weekend with the Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs event.  The Lily Tomlin event (for the SOCH Foundation) went extremely well.  The Police did an exceptional job as well as Public Works in providing service.  Everything reflected well on the Borough.

Mayor Oldham –

·        The race weekend is coming up; the Dog Day Race, the crab race, the Anything Floats race and the craft show.  Judy (Gerkens) does an excellent job providing activities.

·        A lot is happening with the beach project; the next couple of weeks there will be a lot of movement.  The lobbyists and Congressman Saxton have done a lot to move this project along.

PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR –

Al Wright, 3 Cedars Ave., asked if they will be pumping the sand this fall.  Mayor Oldham said no, but some of the project may start before the end of the year.  Mr. Wright said he read an article in the paper that Harvey Cedars will be getting sand first.  Mayor Oldham said the project needs to start; Harvey Cedars may be the first to receive sand.
