REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONERS:

Commissioner Gerkens –

·        Public Works had overtime repairing a watermain break at 85th Street yesterday; today there was another leak, but not a big problem.

·        Public Works is busy picking up dune fence and poles from last week’s stormy weather.  They are bulldozing the beaches again.   Mayor Oldham said he was impressed with the quick response of Public Works getting the beaches back in shape; they did a nice job.

Mayor Oldham –

·        Mayor Oldham spoke with Congressman Saxton’s office regarding the recent beach damage.  The initial beach project will begin with the surveying of the beach this Friday, and the trucking of the sand is expected to begin Monday.  There will be a pre-construction meeting this Thursday in Borough Hall.

Mayor Oldham asked how long the watermain project will take to complete.  Commissioner Gerkens estimated about 3 days per street weather permitting; therefore about 2 to 3 months for the watermain replacements.  The paving of the streets will be done in the spring.

Motion to adjourn: Commissioner Garofalo

           Second: Commissioner Gerkens

Meeting adjourned at 4:39pm.
