REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONERS:

Commissioner Garofalo –

·        The Commissioner attended school budget meetings to review the defeated budget.  The member towns trimmed $500,000 from capital programs.

Commissioner Gerkens –

·        Public Works continues to push sand; lost a lot from the northeast winds.  Once sand is pushed into a good constructed area, dune fence can be put up.

·        Public Works is still only maintaining those properties who have signed easements.

·        Public Works is building the new playground (at Sunset Park).  It has been a challenging job with the rainy weather.

PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR –

Wendy Mae Chambers, 13 East 75th Street, discussed with the Board the following:

  • She asked Commissioner Garofalo if he contacted Sister Thomas Mary regarding signing the deed.  The Commissioner did speak with her and will be forwarding the deed and other information to the senior official at Convent Station, Sister Barbara Aires.
  • Ms. Chambers shared information with the Board regarding research she has done about condemnation and the beach project.
  • Ms. Chambers brought up the issue of trees on the Borough’s right-of-ways.  The Board’s position remains the same as before, they will not be involved at this point to enforce the trimming of trees if it is not a safety issue.

Motion to adjourn: Commissioner Garofalo

Second: Commissioner Gerkens

Meeting adjourned at 4:54pm.
