PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR –
John Cadmus, 7 E. 79th Street, asked why the adoption of the zoning ordinance was delayed. Mayor Oldham explained that the president of the Taxpayer’s Association, Tom Christopoul, wanted to address the taxpayers at their association meeting on Saturday regarding the ordinance, but did not want it to be presented as a done deal. Therefore, out of courtesy, the adoption was postponed.
Mr. Cadmus asked to explain the assessment resolution. Commissioner Garofalo said there were three appealed assessments last year that did not get updated in the current year’s tax book, therefore a correction needed to be made by resolution.
Mr. Cadmus asked if the Board knew the (structural) rating of the causeway bridge. Mayor Oldham stated that it was less than the rating of the bridge that collapsed in Minnesota, but is in desperate need of repair.
Meeting adjourned at 4:48pm.
