HARVEY CEDARS, NJ January

The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of
Harvey Cedars, NJ was called to order by Mayor Oldham at 4:31pm who stated to
the best of his knowledge all requirements of the State Sunshine Law had been
met. Commissioners Gerkens and Garofalo
were present.
The Mayor asked all to rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to
approve the minutes of the previous meeting, January 4, 2008, was made by
Commissioner Gerkens, seconded by Commissioner Garofalo.
The Mayor read the following
ordinance by title and number and asked for a motion to introduce.
(Increase
liquor license fees)

Motion to approve the bills for payment was made by Commissioner
Garofalo, seconded
by Commissioner Gerkens.
The Mayor asked for a
motion to open public discussion regarding the
2008 Ocean County Community Development Block Grant funding; citizens and
non-profit agencies are invited to comment on the housing and community
development needs of the Borough.

No public was in attendance, but Commissioner Gerkens stated that the
Taxpayers’ Association was notified of this grant hearing and its requirements.
The Board discussed the installation of drinking fountains in the park
that are handicap accessible. The cost
of one fountain ranges from $2,500 to $3,000.
The drinking fountains are also pet accessible. Depending on the size of
the fountain, they can also be installed at the two handicap ramps.
The Board also discussed the grade of the walkway entrance to Sunset
Park at Salem Avenue. This will be fixed during the ongoing paving project of
Salem Ave.
