REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONERS:

Commissioner Gerkens –

·        The Borough has “Save the Bay” booklets available (free) for the public that contains important information.  One thing that should be noted is to throw fish carcasses in the trash, not overboard in the bay.  It takes more than 70 days for the bay to flush out; contrary to what people believe, crabs do not take care of fish carcasses.  The carcasses wash-up on the beaches.

Mayor Oldham –

·        The beach is an on-going issue – arrangements have been made to get sand from an outside source for emergencies.

·        The papers reported that the Governor plans to shift $9 million from the surplus in the beach replenishment project fund to pay for parks operation.  The Mayor believes the State can think of other ways to cut the budget.

·        The (June 7th) Fishing Tournament was a success at the firehouse; a 44 lb. striper one the tournament.

Motion to adjourn: Commissioner Garofalo

Second: Commissioner Gerkens

Meeting adjourned at 4:44pm.
