NOTICE OF PENDING ADMINISTRATIVE

ORDINANCE #2008-06 SUMMARY

Ordinance No. 2008-06, the summary terms of which are included herein, was introduced and passed upon first reading at a meeting of the governing body of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, on April 4, 2008.  It will be further considered for final passage, after public hearing thereon, at a meeting of the governing body to be held at Borough Hall, 7606 Long Beach Blvd, Harvey Cedars, NJ 08008 on April 18, 2008 at 4:30pm.  Copies of the full ordinance as introduced will be available at no cost and during regular business hours, at the Clerk’s office for the members of the general public that shall request the same and is available on the website www.harveycedars.org. 

Chapter II of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of Harvey Cedars entitled “Administration” is hereby repealed as presently written and is hereby reorganized and readopted as Chapter II entitled “Administration”. The following is a summary of amendments made within the chapter restructuring:

1.   Current Section 2-7.7 Entitled “Compensation” is hereby repealed.

2.   Current Section 2-11 entitled “Board of Health” is hereby repealed in its entirety and is re-adopted authorizing Long Beach Island Health Department for Board of Health services.

3.   The following employee definitions and/or duties were added: Administrator, Municipal Clerk, Tax Collector, Tax Assessor, Utility Collector, Police Chief and Superintendent.

4.   The hourly rate for the employment of off-duty police officers was amended to $70.00.

5.   The hourly rate for the employment of off-duty lifeguards was amended to $20.00.
