RESOLUTION #2008-117
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL MUNICIPAL AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE BOROUGH OF SHIP BOTTOM AND THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS AND DESIGNATING THE BOROUGH OF SHIP BOTTOM AS LEAD AGENCY FOR THE LONG BEACH ISLAND JOINT ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION
WHEREAS the Shared Services and Consolidation Act, N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1 et seq., authorizes the Borough of Harvey Cedars to enter into a contract for the provision of certain governmental services with several municipalities and N.J.S.A. 40A:65-5 requires that such a contract be authorized by resolution; and
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars adopted Ordinances No. 2004-18 and No. 2006-11 establishing the Joint Environmental Commission; and
WHEREAS the Borough of Harvey Cedars desires to enter into an agreement with the Borough of Ship Bottom as lead agency for services necessitated through the Joint Environmental Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and designated to enter into an Interlocal Services Agreement with the Borough of Ship Bottom, designating the Borough of Ship Bottom lead agency for administration services of the Long Beach Island Joint Environmental Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this agreement shall continue for a period of one year from the execution of the agreement, shall automatically be renewed from year to year, and shall terminate by its own terms and conditions as set forth in the agreement.
