RESOLUTION #2006-122
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS AND THE TOWNSHIP OF LONG BEACH FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF LOSAP FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE HIGH POINT VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY
WHEREAS the Township of Long Beach desires to contract with the Borough of Barnegat Light, Harvey Cedars, Ship Bottom, Beach Haven, and Surf City to adopt and contribute to their specific Length of Service Awards Programs (“LOSAP”) created pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14-183, et seq., for their emergency service volunteers in the Barnegat Light Volunteer First Aid Squad and Volunteer Fire Company, High Point (Harvey Cedars) Volunteer Fire Company, Ship Bottom Volunteer Fire Company, Surf City Volunteer Fire Company and EMS, and Beach Haven Volunteer Fire Company and First Aid Squad; and
WHEREAS the Township of Long Beach is serviced, in part, by the aforementioned emergency service organizations; and
WHEREAS the Interlocal Services Act NJSA 40:8A-1 et seq. authorizes local units as defined in that Act to enter into agreements for provision of certain governmental services; and
WHEREAS N.J.S.A. 40:8A-4 requires that such interlocal agreement be approved by resolution of the governing bodies of all participating municipalities, clearly identify the agreement by reference, with a copy of the contract filed and open to public inspection at the municipal offices of the local unit immediately after the introduction of any such resolution before the governing body; and
WHEREAS the voters of the Township of Long Beach approved the single Township-wide LOSAP by referendum on the date of the general election, November 7, 2006.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, as follows:
