RESOLUTION #2006-046

AUTHORIZING OCEAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT TO PREPARE A HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN FOR THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS

WHEREAS the Borough of Harvey Cedars has limited capability to undertake extensive participation in the preparation of a hazard mitigation plan; and

WHEREAS the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Office of Emergency Management is able to act on behalf of the Borough of Harvey Cedars in the analysis and development of a hazard mitigation plan; and

WHEREAS the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Office of Emergency Management shall prepare a hazard mitigation plan in accordance with the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, in the County of Ocean, New Jersey, authorizes the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, Office of Emergency Management to prepare the Ocean County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan on behalf of the Borough of Harvey Cedars which shall be reviewed and considered for adoption by the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars upon completion.
