RESOLUTION #2007-062

 

ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS) AS THE ALL HAZARDS INCIDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR THE BOROUGH OF HARVEY CEDARS

 

 

            WHEREAS in Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 5, the President directed the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to develop and administer a National Incident Management System (NIMS), which would provide a consistent nationwide approach for Federal, State and Local governments to work together more effectively and efficiently to prevent, prepare for, and respond to, and recover from domestic incidents, regardless of cause, size or complexity; and

 

            WHEREAS by the recommendation of the Harvey Cedars Office of Emergency Management and the High Point Volunteer Fire Company, it is the desire of the Borough of Harvey Cedars to adopt the National Incident Management System.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey that the Borough of Harvey Cedars hereby adopts the National Incident Management System as the All Hazards Incident Management System used by all local jurisdictional departments and agencies and upon this adoption it shall be administered in the Borough by the Harvey Cedars Office of Emergency Management.
