RESOLUTION #2007-083

AUTHORIZING CHANGE ORDER #2 FOR THE

WATERMAIN PROJECT

LAFAYETTE UTILITY CONSTRUCTION CO.

WHEREAS a contract was previously awarded to Lafayette Utility Construction Co. for the Water Main Replacement Project in the total amount of $1,463,673.75 comprised of the base amount $1,217,968.50 for water mains exclusively and an alternate bid amount of $245,705.25 for road repairs; and

WHEREAS the governing body wishes to authorize Change Order No. 2, which will result in an increase of $25,250.70 in the base contract price as per the attached form; and

WHEREAS this change order has been recommended by the Municipal Engineer and agreed to by the Contractor; and

WHEREAS the original alternate contract price of $245,705.25 was reduced by Resolution #2007-067 Change Order #1 in the amount of $13,162.50; and

WHEREAS this change order and the total of both change orders amount to a total of less than twenty (20%) percent of the original contract awarded to the Contractor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners of the Borough of Harvey Cedars, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, does hereby authorize the execution of the change order with Lafayette Utility Construction Co. for the Water Main Replacement Project to provide for a change in the base contract price from $1,217,968.50 to $1,244,219.20, an increase of $25,250.70 as per the attached.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the original total contract amount (base price and alternate price) of $1,463,673.75 has been amended by Change Order #1 and Change Order #2 to $1,476,761.95, an increase of $13,088.20.
